WHY¬†SOLAR DECATHLON? I have participated in two Solar Decathlon projects before and enjoyed working on them. I think the Solar Decathlon projects are an excellent learning experience for all those involved. I am happy to contribute toward UT and TUM’s joint effort.

FAVORITE THING ABOUT AUSTIN: Austin is an amazing city – it has many unique restaurants, music and film festivals, parks and outdoor activities, and nearly everything is accessible by bike (when you live near the University). I like the friendly atmosphere and warm weather of Texas, and the emphasis on energy and water conservation and on innovation and start-ups. Life is a little bit more relaxed here than in the northeast where I grew up.

FAVORITE BUILDING: I was really impressed with the Seattle Library building when I visited Seattle for a conference in the summer of 2014. It has very unique and modern architecture and an open and collaborative floorplan that I believe libraries of the future will have, particularly with the move toward more digital media.

HOBBIES: Rock climbing, backpacking, hiking, running
